Hull RGT
This branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust has been set up to find homes for ex-racing greyhounds from the local area: this is even more relevant since the local racing track has closed down. For all the dogs, their racing career is quite short, most being retired by the time they reach 6 years of age. Some are forced into an earlier retirement by injury and some are abandoned and left to die.
"Greyhounds are 40 mile an hour couch potatoes"
Greyhounds are 'gentle giants', who are the most loving and laid-back of breeds. In fact, they are at the bottom of the league that measures levels of aggression in dogs. What every greyhound needs is a lot of love and a bit of exercise. Most ex-racers are happy with two 20 minute walks a day, don't forget they have already lead a 'fast' life when racing.
"A greyhound sleeps 8 hours a day.......and 12 hours at night".
As any greyhound owner will tell you these dogs are good with children, they are also a good companion for the more mature person. Greyhounds love to be around people, they will sit and cuddle all day long.
If you are thinking of adopting one of our lovely greyhounds or would like more information, please contact us, or call "Greyhound Sue" on 01482 223228
